Organizer: If you can run the Pinnacle in 101 minutes, your pants might fall down

PINNACLE PARK–The second annual Assault on Black Rock Trail Race, a fundraiser for Sylva’s Community Table, is planned for Saturday, March 17, 2012, according to organizer Brian Barwatt.

Many details will remain the same, with the addition of one feature: “This year we’re adding the Black Rock 101 challenge,” Barwatt said. “Think of it as a pass/fail college course. Anyone who completes the course in 101 minutes or less will “pass” and receive an oversized belt buckle which you can then proudly wear around town or hang on your wall at home as a trophy.”

Last spring, 7 of 65 entrants would have scored a buckle.

In addition to belt buckles, customary prizes will be awarded to top finishers.

“We are not just targeting trail runners,” Barwatt added. “Anyone who just wants to get out and hike to Black Rock and support the Community Table is encouraged to come.”
